2008 Fall Fashion Trends
Playful Plaids, Fall Florals, and Purple Hues-All In Your Favorite Fabric, Cotton!
Fall is just around the corner. If you haven’t made room in your closet for the latest fall fashion trends, it’s time to start. Fall 2008 runway fashions previewed everything from punchy prints to jeweled-tone solids. As stores begin to display fall seasonal fashions, we get a chance to see which high-fashion runway trends have made it to the streets and which will make it into our shopping bags.
For those who are mad about plaid, the style gods are working in your favor. The classic criss-cross pattern is introduced to ruffled styles and a variety of hues for a playful twist. Want to get office-glam? Match a fishtail plaid skirt with your favorite cotton blouse, leggings and a set of peep-toe platforms. For a look that’s less formal, pair a long-sleeve plaid shirt with denim jeans, and wear over a chic pair of buckled boots.
Take a walk in the autumnal garden. Floral patterns are no longer restricted to spring and will continue to bloom into the cooler autumn season. Recycle a floral cotton maxi and couple with a knit sweater and knee-length boots for a look that’s boho chic. However, not all of your existing spring florals will make the cut. You definitely want to add darker blooms to your fall wardrobe. Earthy colors such as burnt orange, beige, wine-red and nightfall shades of blue are options to consider when selecting your fall floral patterns.
This season’s fashion fall fashion trends predict floods of Purple Rain. Adding shades to your autumn palette that range from rich shades of royal purple, eggplant and aubergine, to brighter violets and mauves is a fall must. Opt for a ribbed cotton sweater dress for subtle style or match an augbergine caftan with a pair of neutral slacks. As you begin to make way for the cooler months, combine your purple favorites with soft grays, dazzling metallics and black.
